This project is jointly organized by Po Leung Kuk, Correctional Services Department and Action Green Committee Limited, and is implemented in its primary schools and kindergartens. Participating schools will set up glass bottle recycling bins in their schools. The EPD contractor will collect the glass bottles and pass them to the Correctional Institution who will turn them into environmentally friendly glass bricks.
This project not only raises students’ awareness of waste recycling and classification, but also supports the rehabilitation project for persons in custody to help rehabilitated persons reintegrate into society.According to data, it takes one to two million years for materials such as glass jars and glass bottles to decompose. We should contribute to the earth so please participate actively.
