Under the Kindergarten Education Scheme (Parent Education Grant), the EDB encourage school to organize school-based or joint school parent education programs. The Curriculum Framework on Parent Education (Kindergarten) which includes four core strands: “Understanding of Child Development”, “Promotion of Healthy, Happy and Balanced Development of Children”, “Promotion of Parents’ Physical and Psychological Well-being” and “Fostering Home-school Co-operation and Communication”. Parents can learn in a more systematic manner the necessary knowledge and skills for nurturing their children.
Objectives:
1. Parents can know more about physical and mental health, the relation with stress. Learn to manage our emotion, how to cope with stress, personal growth, how to love ourselves and family, etc.
2. Parent can learn more about parenting and communication skills, to make a better family relation.
3. Using diverse teaching strategies such as learning through play and picture book to help children all-round development.
4. Create chances for parents to keep in touch with each other through sharing. Promote home-school relationship to enhance children’s motivation on learning.
Aims of the workshops (four times) and extended activities:
1. To let parent learn more about parenting and communication skills, to make a better family relation.
2. To let parent know the importance of physical and mental health and how to love themselves and their families.
3. Encourage parent to use diverse teaching strategies such as learning through play and picture book to help children all-round development.
4. Build up home-school relationship to enhance children’s motivation on learning.
