Non-Chinese Speaking Students Support
In order to support the Non-Chinese Speaking Students (NCS) to adapt to the Chinese learning environment and integrate into school life, our school is committed to providing different support and services for NCS students and their families. We have two NCS teachers to provide comprehensive learning for our NCS Students.
With regard to NCS student support, NCS teachers in the school design teaching activities according to the student’s abilities and interests. They learn Chinese individually and in groups, so that our NCS teachers can observe the children’s learning performance for continuous evaluation.
NCS teachers will also assist NCS students in helping them through learning difficulties during daily classroom lessons and activities, and provide Chinese Learning Fun for after school activities for free to increase their interest in learning Chinese.
Further to academic support, the school also attaches importance to the personal emotional and social development of the NCS students. Our school based social worker will provide guidance and support to NCS students in need. Our social worker also provides parent group activities for NCS parents, communicate with parents, provide assistance and support for raising children.
In addition to parental support, in order to allow parents to have a good communication and coordination with the school, NCS teachers will communicate individually with parents on a regular basis to provide notification translation and update services. This will assist parents with keeping up to date with the latest school news.
