Green Campus Life
We continue to participate in various activities such as Po Leung Kuk’s “GoGreen NGO” carbon reduction campaign, the Conservancy Association’s “Reduce Waste   in Campus”, Green Sense’ “Hong Kong No Air Con Night”, “Green Christmas Party”,World Food Day “Order Less Waste Less, More Blessings”, “Earth Hour”, “One Person, One Flower Planting Activity” and “Cherish Water Campus” Integrated Education Programme-Kindergarten, etc. We have also arranged relevant environmental experience classes and visits to schools to promote environmental protection. The aim is to enhance the awareness of students, parents and staff of the importance of environmental protection in their daily lives and to cultivate the awareness of green living.

The Environment and Conservation Fund (“ECF”) and the Environmental Campaign Committee (“ECC”) have funded the ECF “Big Waster – A Revelation of Saving God’s Village” project, which was carried out in schools by the Earth Rescue Team. Through storytelling activities in kindergartens, children are able to learn about the resources at home, the importance of resources and ways to save them, and to develop good habits of waste, energy conservation and environmental protection.

We join the “Food for Good @ Campus Jockey Club Green Living Education Programme Experience – Visit Yau Tong Community Classroom” organised by Food for Good @ Campus. Purpose: To introduce the concept and work of Food for Good and encourage children to treasure food through activities.

1. To enable children to grasp the correct behaviours to minimize food waste, and to                effectively cultivate their behaviour of cherishing the environment and developing a            habit of saving and reducing waste, and understanding the importance of saving and        reducing waste.

2. To transform the concept of waste prevention and reduction into different levels.                    The evolution of the concept starts from the operational stage of direct interaction with        the environment, providing children with sufficient exploration and operational                        experience, using concrete objects to develop the 3R concept, i.e. “Reduce”,     “Reuse” and “Recycling”, and then elevating it to the level of expressing the                      concept in abstract symbols to achieve effective learning. We also provide concrete          life-like activities to deepen the effectiveness of learning.

We were awarded the 14th Hong Kong Green School Award “Certificate of Appreciation” by the ECC.
