Managing with Information Technology
Support for teachers
1. Purchase wireless network installation, network-attached storage (“NAS”), web system purchase secure sockets layer (“SSL”) site security certificate, purchase new firewall equipment and maintenance service version of Zoom licence.
2. Set up a remote control programme – using the Team Viewer software to support optimisation for remote desktop access and online collaboration – using this programme for database management will greatly improve the school’s technical knowledge by enabling proper and appropriate communication with other departments whenever data issues are resolved.
3. Attend a professional teacher training workshop on the “Jockey Club Kindergarten Digital Competency Enhancement Project” conducted by the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Sha Tin). Content: (1) Educational video production skills. (2) Application of information technology to develop home-school collaboration and student communication. (3) Production and application of interactive learning materials. (4) Special effects and editing techniques for video filming.
Support for parents
1. At the operational level, the knowledge management system is systematised to help provide information in English and Chinese through the Education Bureau’s (“EDB”) Kindergarten Education Scheme Website Enhancement Grant, enriching the content of the website and making the layout easier to navigate. This will enable the public to have access to the latest information about the school at any time through the Internet, thus enhancing the school’s competitiveness in the community and improving the quality of its reputation.
2. Using virtual reality (“VR”), we welcome anyone to visit our school through our website, FaceBook, and School Parent Corner Apps to build up parents’ confidence in our school. We provide a comfortable and safe campus for our children, a quality and informative learning environment to cater for the diverse learning needs of our children.
Enriching and interesting teaching activities
1. An electronic whiteboard is installed in each classroom, allowing for diversified and interactive teaching through information technology. 2. KiddieWorld 2.0 interactive learning platform is available for each student, making good use of multimedia teaching. 3. A realistic virtual iFloor was set up in August 2021 to enhance children’s interest and concentration in learning through animated games and to enhance learning effectiveness.
