Education Support Measures for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students of the Education Bureau

【Education services for non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students】

The government has been helping the NCS students to learn Chinese in Hong Kong to enable them integrate with the local community. In the 2017/18 school year, six NCS students enrolled in our school. Their nationalities include Pakistan, Canadian, German, British and Pilipino. We participated in the network group of “Catering for the Learning Needs of Non-Chinese Speaking Children” launched by the EDB and the "C-for- Chinese@JC" Project. Our teachers helped the NCS students to learn Chinese through taking part in joint-school exchange, seminars and workshops. Moreover, our teachers cooperated with social workers and endeavoured to provide interesting games for the NCS students by organizing both small group and individual learning. We kept frequent contact with parents of NCS students, maintained and fostered an environment of caring and harmony.

On 24th April 2018, Mrs Chan Siu Suk Fan, the Principal Education Officer (Kindergarten Education) of the Education Bureau came to our school and visited our NCS students. We received positive comments in areas of school operation, teaching and learning, communication with parents, etc.
