Current Concern Focus 2022-2023
Concern (1): Promote positive classroom and strengthen teachers' management skills to enhance children’s behavior through positive education.
1. Enhance teachers' understanding of positive education and promote the effectiveness of positive classroom management
- Influence children and school environment by utilising growth mindset and character strengths through teachers' training.
- Facilitate effectiveness of classroom and activities based on children's performance through peer observation and reflection.
2. Internalise children's positive behaviour and maintain classroom discipline through teachers’ positive management skills.
- Teaching activities: Implement positive education program in daily routines by covering growth mindset and character strengths.
- Teachers and children establish ‘Positive Classroom Commitment’ with visual cues to maintain children's discipline.
- Teachers use positive words to reinforce children's positive behavior and encourage children who show improvement by ‘Positive Behavior Star’.
3. Raise parents' awareness in positive education and jointly nurture children's positive behavior.
- Parents can appreciate children's strengths and practice growth mindset with children's to reinforce positive behaviour.
Concern (2): Enhance children's creativity and aesthetic development through implement diversified art activities by teachers.
1. Enhance teachers' understanding of children's aesthetic development
- Cooperate with EDB’s mentor to design diversified art activities as well as lesson observation and reflection, so as to make appropriate adjustments and provide quality teaching.
2. Promote children's interest in art and creativity
- ‘Art Month’: Set related art activities according to each level (K1-K3) so as to enhance children's creativity and aesthetic development.
- ‘Art Gallery’: Regularly displaying different children's art creations to enhance the art atmosphere in school. Children can appreciate and learn from each other.
3. Encourage parents to cultivate children's artistic qualities
- Invite parents and children to jointly work on art creation through parent-child workshops, so they can experience the joy of art creation.
